Finished!I want to have it framed, I think.
So I finished up my sampler and went right into embroidery.
It was fun! Such a cute little chocolate cupcake with a cherry on top. The pattern is from the book, Sublime Stitching. (I like the book better than I though!) I just have no idea what to do with this darling little cupcake now. I think I will just use this piece of fabric, which is quite large, to just practice. My stitches need to be more uniform, but that will come with time I suppose. I tried the split stitch and backstitch on this little cupcake with some "seed" stitches thrown in as sprinkles. Hmm, what to try next. Maybe a pretty little birdy.
I found some textiles for sale at the Sublime Stitching embroidery site I might like to try, once I get a few practice projects under my belt, a half apron and kitchen towels.

Its just beautiful! You did a spendid job. I adore the cupcake! Just a note...sharpen your needle often or replace. I use a pincushion filled with sand to sharpen mine. It makes it so much easier to stitch.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I haven't done any stitchwork yet, but have a project waiting for me. Some day it'll get on FFG! Thanks for sharing!

That was quick work! Love them both. That cupcake would be cute done on a burb cloth for a baby!
ReplyDeleteOh, Sharity - how adorable!!!! I'm in cupcake lurrrrve... :) I have wondered how to use my stitchery once I get going on it, and have come up with the following: as an embellishment patch on anything: apron, tote bag, book cover, tea towel... you get the idea. I was thinking about making three little ones and putting them in one of those frames with three little windows cut out of the matte. Soooo many ideas, so little time!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Stitching!

Ohhhh I LOVE IT! I DO think you would love the Doodle stiching 400 motifs book. I think I got it on Amazon for under 10 dollars plus 4 dollars for shipping. I LOVE mine. *grin* I need to pick another project and get going on it asap. Hmmmm maybe tonight. *grin* You can also use patterns from colouring books. There is so much you can do! Enjoy and keep having fun.
ReplyDeleteKeep sharing your sweet projects...I LOVE seeing them and they inspire me too.
