Tea Talk

I'm Having:  green tea with honey in one of my Oma's mugs.  Ever since I can remember she served coffee in these mugs.  It's nothing fancy.  There is no marking on it.  It was part of a larger set, probably mass produced.  I only have the one mug though.  I think it was one of the last things I took from the estate sale.

I'm Feeling:  stir crazy!  Being iced in is no fun.  Not sure if dh will let me out today or not.  The roads are still icy in some spots.  My guess is he won't.  :-(  Also, a mix of emotions for several friends.

On My Mind:  A dear friend who lost her father this week.  And four families at church with babies on the way this year!

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance... Ecclesiastes 3:1-4

  Reading over this, I realized how depressing it sounds.  Certainly not my intention, especially for my first ever Tea Talk!  I assure you there is still joy in my heart; and there is a bit of excitement in this icy weather we are having, believe it or not.  And I certainly don't want to be a 'downer' to anyone today, so let me end on a more joyful note:

Thou wilt shew me the path of life:  in thy prescence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.  Psalm 16:11

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.  Habakkuk 3:18

  2. Hello Sharity!
    Welcome to Tea Talk! I'm glad you joined us this week. I'm sure you'll find new good friends here.

    You have a pretty mug. I love the blue floral prints.
    Thank you for sharing those verses. They reminded me to take it easy and not get lost in the whirlwind a of all the urgent demands around me. I need to rejoice in everyday that the Lord has made.

    I hope you get a little bit of sunshine these coming days.

    Blessings!

  3. Wishing you a better day today...though I have always found hope in the words from Ecclesiastes. They bring us to the reality that change is inevitable and with each we know that Providence will prevail. It is good to know that as his creation we will be cared for! Cathy

    OH! Your mug is delightful! I like it!

  4. Hope you can get out today, Sharity! And I don't think Ecclesiastes is depressing--like Cathy said, there is hope in the knowledge that the Lord brings each season into our lives (even the icy season!!).

    Nice to see you on Tea Talk!

    Blessings,
    Christine

  5. Hi Sharity, so glad you've joined Tea Talk! I'm a day late in getting to visit everyone...

    No, you don't sound depressed. No worries! I like your mug...so glad you have it as a memory! Even things that were parts of mass-production sets become super-special when they are our "one of a kind" items.

    Blessings,
    Lori
