Romans 12:1-3
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
I know a lot of people have a "life verse", and many times I've tried to pick one but I can never seem to narrow it down! I tend to have verses for different seasons in life. My favorite verse usually depends on where I'm at or what I'm going through in life at that particular moment. I'm sure that is true for many. But instead of having a 'life verse' I guess maybe I just have 'Scripture Focus'. Right now Romans 12:1-3 is my Scripture Focus.
I also plan to use it with the boys as well. Reciting and memorizing it together and using it for copywork.
Powerful verses. I'm with you, Sharity, I don't have a "life verse." Focus verses change with the seasons and the circumstances. I like the idea of focus verses!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Christine
I had Anna memorize and copy this verse a couple of years in school. Memorizing and copying the word is a blessing to our kids. this year we are back into full gear with scripture memorization again.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are safe from all of the ice.

I don't have a life verse either, but I like your term scripture focus, that fits.
ReplyDeleteI usually have the job of wrapping but at this point I am the wrapping overseer, until the two year old gets a little older and isn't so into everything.
Oh my. I read this on my reader when you wrote it and then forgot to stop by and comment. *blush* I think hiding God's word in our hearts is essential, but very difficult personally. I must discipline myself to work harder at it. Your verses are excellent ones.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite verse, just a lot of verses depending on what the subject is. We have a life Book though. :) I love the verses you posted too.
ReplyDeleteWhat cute heart bird feed-ers. Maybe I should try to make a few and see what shows up. I don't see too many birds in the winter around here, just the ones that take up residence in the barn (and make a mess). You are always doing something creative...I enjoy seeing what you are up to next.
