You know like from the Wizard of Oz hehe :-) I've been trying this past week to pull myself out of my "meltdown". Have you had a homeschool mom meltdown? You know where you panic, even ever so slightly, that your doing it all wrong. Well, that's been me this past week. I think I'm on the upswing now of my little down turn, sticking to my course and really praying for guidance for any changes that need to be made, or none at all. I'm finding it hard to put into words right now so I'll just keep praying...
I walked out the back door other day to this scene. I thought it was funny, took the picture and then got on to them for climing with their guitars in hand. :-)
Oh, that is so totally what my boys would do! And yes, I've been there. Actually, it is always "there" lurking in my mind. I try to think of the big picture. When it is all said and done. I am putting my hopes in that. Day to day, I do my best with what I have. Yes, they are a tad behind in one area or another, but they are ahead in others. And who is to say that would be different in a school setting? That is what I tell myself to talk myself down! :-) Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are starting to feel better. I will lift you in prayer. I understand those feelings well and I too am in a bit of panic. I am REALLY needing spring break to re-evaluate, refresh, refocus and write out a plan. So if you think of me please send up a few prayers for me too. [0= I am so glad it is sunny today. It picks up my soul. I am feeling winter is going long now but hubby said he has seen signs of spring, PTL.

Lol, fun picture! Unlike you, I've never felt I was doing it all wrong, but with an over-abundance of self-confidence...I forge ahead only to find out later that I actually WAS doing it all wrong. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI guess that's all a part of learning and growing and going through the refining fires of life. I sure do wish I knew then what I knew now...more Bible, less academics...focus on the eternal.
No matter what, one thing we know for sure Sharity; putting them in the government school won't solve anything but rather escalate any any problem that ever could be. Whatever learning gaps we might have homeschooling, there are far more in the public schools.
Keep praying Sharity. With God and Truth on our side, the Lord will guide better then we can ever imagine.
Hi, Sharity! My boys would be right up there, too, since they've done it before--of course, they were 3 and 5 when they climbed out of their bedroom window. But they'd still do it, anyway. :)
